I have nothing to hide

The government uses a system of tracking the movements of residents, formed on the basis of data from photo and video cameras, legal cabs, public transportation trips and mobile operator data. A registry with organizers of information distribution has been created. Almost any site can be recognized as an organizer. It is enough to allow users to comment and exchange messages. Participants of the registry are obliged to save user data, including information about all their actions and interactions, as well as to transfer this data at the first request to the FSB. This also applies to correspondence, audio and video calls. At the moment there are more than 400 resources in the registry. The list includes food delivery services, social networks, banking applications, as well as dating and e-mail services. Representatives of the authorities claim that all this amount of data is anonymized and is used only to improve the comfort of citizens and maintain security. Not everyone thinks about the implications of all this data being stored and can be used against us. We have become indifferent to surveillance, digitizing data that stores details of our daily lives. With the development of neural networks, the capabilities of the authorities will only increase. For a long time I have been haunted by the feeling that I am being watched, kept “under the hood. I am frightened by the state’s control over my private life, and my anxiety that I am being deprived of it is constantly growing. I can’t help thinking that somewhere there is a “folder” in which my whole life is described, which can be interpreted in any way they want. These feelings have become more intense in recent years. I find it difficult to describe the feelings in words, so I translate my anxiety through images.
